About this Seminar:

It is a widely accepted principle that the purpose of contractual damages is said to put the injured party in the position in which it would have been had the contract been performed. Although there must be a causative link between the loss suffered and the event, the measure of that damage can give rise to immense difficulties. Ascertaining the correct measure of damage can become even more fraught where a contract has been terminated. Rashda Rana SC will examine 2 broad categories of damage which a party may elect to pursue in such circumstances: the calculation of damages on the basis of the common law principles of reliance expenditure and expectation interest.
