Proving an Unabsorbed Head Office Overheads claim requires the demonstrati on of a loss. Unlike many other heads of claims associated with delay, it i s a loss to the Contractor’s business as a whole, not just a specific proje ct. As a result, the irony is that smaller Contractors are more likely to b e able to demonstrate a loss, whereas larger Contractor’s may struggle. Thi s seminar looks at the nature of Unabsorbed Head Office Overheads, the rela tionship to Loss of Profit Claims, what is required to prove the loss and h ow to quantify the loss and how this may be done. The various formulaic app roaches are looked at and compared along with several variations to the usu al list of formulae. Issues with the individual formulae will be examined a nd discussed.Seminar Programme:\n5.00 - 5.30pm\nRegistrations & Network ing for Delegates\n5.30 - 5.45pm\nOpening Remarks by Chairperson:\nMr. Trev or Lam – Head of Singapore, CTBH; Council Member, Society of Construction L aw (Singapore)\n5.45 - 7.00pm\nUnabsorbed Head Office Overheads \nMr. David Kelly – Principal, Exponent, Inc.\n7.00 - 7.15pm\nQ&A Session\n \nAbou t the Speaker:\nMr. David Kelly – Principal, Exponent IncDavid is a Princip al with Exponent, Inc. based in Singapore.
