About this Course
This course is designed for pra ctitioners in the construction industry interested in the basic principles of construction law. It will reviewgeneral rights and obligations of contra ctors and employers, as well as time, payment, SOP and dispute related issu es in constructioncontracts. It is principally designed for non-lawyers in the construction industry but lawyers seeking an introduction to this area may also beinterested. It will be taught in 4 evening classes. A Certificat e of Attendance from the SCL (Singapore) will be issued to all attendees wh ofully attend and successfully complete the Course.

Mohan is a Chartered Ar bitrator and presently the Hon Treasurer of the Singapore Institute of Arbi trators (SIArb). His past appointments include President ofSIArb, Co-Chair of the Dispute Resolution & Arbitration Committee, Inter-Pacific Bar As sociation (IPBA), Chair of SCL (Singapore) and the InternationalConstructio n Projects Committee, IPBA, as well as teaching appointments as Adj. Assoc. Professor, Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore (2003 -2011) a nd Visiting Professor, Centre of Construction Law & Dispute Resolution, King’s College London (2005 – 2011). He is one of the General Editors of < em>Singapore Construction Adjudication Review and the Singapore Jo urnal of Construction Law, and co-author (with Toh Chen Han) of “T he SICC Handbook – AGuide to the Rules and Procedures of the Singapore Inte rnational Commercial Court” (Sweet & Maxwell, 2016). He is also on e of the chapter authors for theSingapore Academy of Law Annual Review of S ingapore Cases' chapter on building and construction law.

Yeo Boon Tat is a Partner at Pinsent Masons MPillay LLP. His practice focuses on commercial litigation and regional arb itration work, with an emphasis on construction and engineering. He is an e xperienced and well-regarded counsel who has represented clients at all lev els of the Singapore courts, in arbitrations, and in adjudications. .
