On 14 May 2020, SCL Singapore was privileged to have the opportunity to host Seth Tan, Executive Director of Infrastructure Asia over a virtual fireside chat. Titled “An Exchange with Infrastructure Asia: Accelerating Regional Infrastructure Development”, Seth started off giving an overview of Infrastructure Asia’s work in the region as well as his views on some emerging trends in the sector. The role of the public versus the private sector in the development of infrastructure projects was examined in addition to typical dispute resolution mechanisms that have found popularity amongst regional governments. COVID-19 was a key discussion topic with its impact anticipated to be felt both in the short and medium term. The event was well attended by over 40 lawyers, quantity surveyors, claims consultants and other infrastructure stakeholders. This is SCL Singapore’s 2^nd webinar event since the circuit breaker period was announced.
