We are thrilled to report that our recent event during Singapore Convention Week 2023 was a resounding success, thanks in large part to your enthusiastic participation. Our discussion, co-organised by the Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC) and The Society of Construction Law (Singapore), delved into a topic of paramount importance to our community - "Complexification and Contextuality: Resolving Multi-Party Multi-Contract Disputes using SICC TIC List."
The session garnered a captivated audience, both in person and virtually, underlining the critical nature of the subject matter at hand. This success would not have been possible without the invaluable contributions of our distinguished panellists, who lent their unparalleled expertise to the conversation. We were honoured to have Justice Philip Jeyaretnam, President of the Singapore International Commercial Court, Anneliese Day KC, Dinesh Dhillon, William Zhang, and Laurence Wong on board. Their insights and knowledge enriched the discussion and left a lasting impression on all attendees.
Mohan Pillay, ex-Chairman of SCL(S), our adept moderator, skillfully guided the proceedings, ensuring that we delved deep into the complexities of the topic and explored it from various angles. His contribution was instrumental in elevating the depth and breadth of our exploration.
The core theme of our discussion revolved around the pivotal role of contextuality in resolving disputes, particularly within the context of multi-party and multi-contract scenarios. We emphasised how SICC's TIC List serves as a crucial tool in navigating this intricate process. Our panellists shared diverse perspectives and invaluable insights, shedding light on the path forward when dealing with multi-party complexities in the realm of construction law.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your active participation, as well as your continuous support for the SCL(S). Together, we have contributed to the advancement of knowledge and understanding in our field, and we look forward to more such engaging discussions in the future.
