With the tightening of controls on foreign labour, the construction industry in Singapore is now under pressure to improve productivity.

SCL Singapore is very aware of many of the problems which reduce productivity in the construction industry. These frequently derive from contract practices which often result in inefficiency, including complex submission and approval procedures, supposed ‘fast-tracking’ of the design which ultimately slows the construction phase and inadequate compensation for variations and changes which encourages late decision-making.

The SCL Annual Conference will bring together eminent speakers and panelists from all parts of the construction industry, together with the construction lawyers who advise them, to consider how improved contract and work processes can benefit the industry and contribute to improved productivity throughout the procurement and construction process.
