14, 16, 21 & 23 April 2015, 5.30pm - 9.30pm (starting time 4.00 pm for session 4)
This Course is the 6th run of a successful 2.5 day workshop organized in response to the excellent feedback and request for more in-depth sessions pursuant to the Engineering 101 and Common Construction Disputes vs. Construction Challenges papers presented at the Joint SCL-Law Society Annual Conference in 2008. It is aimed at Lawyers, Quantity Surveyors and any non-Engineers working in a construction-related profession, who want to learn more comprehensively the basics of engineering principles, construction projects, construction techniques and related challenges.
Held for the past five years as an evening course, it comprises five modules tailor-made for non-Engineers, covering Construction Features, Construction Facts and Figures, Engineering principles, Construction Project teams and their role, Construction Execution and common Construction Disputes vs. Construction Challenges. The Course will enable participants to achieve some insights into the Singapore Construction Sector, including contemporary challenges and comparison to some overseas examples.
A sample of the glowing feedback received from participants of the previous runs of this Course:
