Dear SCL(S) members,

We’re coming to the end of the year and the SCL (Singapore) continues to be busy with organising events for our members. The SCL (Singapore)’s Annual General Meeting and Annual Dinner were held on 22 August 2019. The SCL (Singapore) also organised the 2nd Focus in Asia Conference on 11 and 12 September 2019 at Hotel Fort Canning. It didn’t stop there. Together with the National University of Singapore, a career talk was held for students on 2 October 2019. Write-ups on these events can be found in this newsletter.

The Council is always looking to organise enriching and useful seminars and talk on construction law and the practice of it for its members and the public. Construction law continues to be a significant area of law that touches everybody in some fashion. The Council takes the responsibility of educating the public on construction law seriously and, to that end, is always looking for new endeavours and issues in the area of construction to delve into. We welcome suggestions from members in this respect.
