Abstract of paper
The economic events over the past twelve months have been analyzed and chronicled in many forums. Owners and contractors will have to reassess the directions of their development programmes. This will involve a re-examination of the risk profile of each of their projects, the identification of new risks and how these risks are to be re-allocated. They will also have to weigh their resources against their views on the time needed for a turnaround in business prospects. This lecture invites a discussion of some of the key contractual issues which are being confronted in this process and offer some suggestions to enable contractors and advisors for developing a framework for managing these issues.
