WEBINAR: Limitation Periods in Construction Disputes - An International Perspective (28 July 2021)
We were privileged to have James Howells QC and Shourav Lahiri of Atkin Chambers address the Society on the subject of Limitation Periods in Construction Disputes on 28 July 2021. The talk draw a good crowd 63 attendees and provided an international perspective on a broad range of limitation-related issues including:
- The origins of limitation under Roman and English law;
- How limitation operates generally, and in the particular context of various contractual and tortious causes of action that typically arise in the context of construction disputes;
- Various ways in which limitation periods may be extended, shortened, suspended and recommenced;
- Asymmetrical limitation periods and contracting out; and
- Related issues of waiver and estoppel.
